Project Design Specialist, Carbon Credits

New Orleans, LA

Are you impatient, proactive, and relentlessly accurate? Do you thrive on getting the details right, love digging into new technical material, and prefer to demonstrate your expertise through precise, professional documentation? This role offers a rare chance to put those skills to work on one of the most important challenges of our time.

Robinson Lumber Company (RLC), now in its fifth generation of family ownership, is launching a groundbreaking biochar initiative that generates carbon credits for sale on the voluntary market. The company is at a pivotal stage where it must create detailed Project Design Documents (PDDs) and technical packages that serve as the foundation for certification with registries like Puro.Earth and Isometric—and as submissions to some of the world’s largest corporations. Buyers such as Microsoft, Meta, Google, Shopify, JP Morgan, and BlackRock are investing billions into carbon offsets, and the documents written in this role will be sent directly to them.

Wood biochar has the potential to quickly become the single largest source of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) offsets worldwide, making it one of the most important solutions to reduce global emissions. By taking on this role, you will not only help establish the credibility of RLC’s projects but also contribute to shaping the future of climate action.

Joining RLC means joining an old company doing new things. Since 1893, Robinson has grown as a leader in global wood products by combining tradition with innovation. As a values-driven organization, the company is committed to excellence in every pursuit, independence in taking smart risks, and stewardship of natural resources. These values align directly with the qualities sought for this role: precision, rigor, and the confidence to own important work.
