Sales Operations Specialist - Logistics Coordination

New Orleans, LA

Robinson Lumber Company is looking to hire a Sales Operations Specialist to join our team in a Logistics-focused role. You’ll own the execution side of our order fulfillment process, managing transportation bookings, shipment documentation, and cargo coordination from booking through final delivery. Shipping rarely goes exactly to plan. Carriers change schedules, cargo isn’t ready, and deadlines move, so this role calls for someone who can adjust quickly and keep things on track. No prior logistics experience is required, though it’s welcome. Our established operations team will provide one-on-one training and mentoring. A good candidate is process-driven and detail-oriented, communicates well, and treats each shipment like a small project they own from start to finish. Our tools and workflows evolve constantly, including growing use of AI and automation, and we’re looking for someone who gets energized by learning new systems rather than worn down by it.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and booking domestic and international freight
  • Managing cargo readiness, shipping schedules, and carrier communication
  • Preparing and issuing shipment documentation for export and domestic orders
  • Tracking multiple shipments at once and adjusting quickly when schedules or requirements change
  • Keeping Sales, Order Management, and external partners informed on status, delays, and next steps
  • Maintaining accurate shipment records in Salesforce and our ERP system
  • Using AI tools and automated workflows to streamline documentation and tracking
  • Supporting customs, compliance, and regulatory documentation requirements
  • Other tasks as assigned

To be considered you must:

  • Have strong computer skills and the ability to pick up new software quickly
  • Be comfortable with frequent, ongoing changes to tools, processes, and priorities
  • Be able to manage your own priorities and shift them quickly as the day demands
  • Have strong project management instincts, tracking many moving parts and seeing them through to completion
  • Communicate clearly, proactively, and often, both in writing and in conversation, so no one is left guessing
  • Thrive in a team environment, jumping in to help and sharing information freely
  • Be highly organized with strong attention to detail, especially under deadline pressure
  • Be open to working alongside AI and automation as a regular part of the job

Experience in freight, transportation, international trade, project coordination, or Salesforce is a plus but not required.
